2017 BMC Team Machine ALR01

Did it again...

Just happened to be on eBay and could NOT pass up on this amazing deal. I bought me another bike! I am now the owner of a 2017 BMC TeamMachine ALR01. The bike is retail for $2100, but bought it for $999. I think the seller posted the bike incorrectly. He had other bikes for auction well below the retail just like this was prices. Fortunately for me I saw "Buy It Now", so I did! It will be arriving on December 11th.

This bike will be the bike I use on my Wahoo Trainer. This will also be taken on trips if I ever need to fly. The Cervelo will be my main squeeze, but I have a terrific number two!

2017 Cervelo C3

I'm going in BIG!!

On a recent trip to Montreal I visited Cycle Technique. CT is one of the best bike shops in Montreal. I was very fortunate to be able to talk bikes with one of the guys who works there. He helped me pick out an Endurance Bike. Endurance because I wasn't about to compete in any races but I do plan to go on long rides with friends.

Becuase the service was great, I decided to get the bike from CT. I went with the Cervelo C3. Here are two pictures below.

I will be picking the bike up on December 16th. I cannot wait to get it home! These are all pictures I found on eBay of the same bike!

Longest Ride so far!

It was such a great morning that I decided to drive a little bit to get a new ride in. I've been using the web to find new trails and there are a TON in Bay Area. I've been checking out the Berkeley Marina recently and decided I would head there today.

As you can see, I parked on the city streets. It's free and there were a few other people who did the same thing too! Berkeley is cool because bikes are welcomed in the city and there are a lot signs for bike path and there are a lot of bikers already!

In this pic I tried to get the 3 key points of interest. The Golden Gate, the new Eastern Span of the Bay Bridge, and the always changing SF Skyline.

I'm getting into biking

Can't go to the gym and workout that much anymore. I can, but just need some serious motivation. Mentally I can't do it unless I'm playing ball. I've never been able to just 'work out' an extended period of time. I can't just run around and not go anywhere, so I'm starting to get into biking as a form of exercise.

Here is my new ride. I personalized it. Front tire options to keep me loving my bike. I plan to order a 3 spoke black rim in the near future so look out for that!

I got a new bike for my nephew too! I also repaired my brothers bike to make sure all bike options are available. He was going to sell it or give it away.

After doing some research there are a lot of bike trail options in the bay. Who would have known! So far Benicia State park has been my local ride. I plan to move out to farther locations to mix up the biking.

Rogers Cup in Montreal

I'm on a tennis kick this year. Wimbledon in London, then the Citi Open in DC, and now the Roger's Cup in Montreal!

Tickets here were also cheap, but a little higher than the Citi Open. If you didn't know, this tournament splits the men and women. This year the men are in Montreal and the women are in Toronto. They alternate each year. Anyway it isn't a major so I expected decent seats at affordable prices.

Roger is playing this year so he was the real reason I came. Who knows how many tournaments he has left in him. With two sets of twins, he is going to be occupied when he isn't playing tennis.

They have a big screen on the grounds that you can use to catch the action. The weather has been great so I can't complain!

This was my view on the first day. The top level of the upper bowl.

Citi Open in Washington DC

It's my least week on this project. The client is taking a brake and kicking out the primary SI. WHo knows if I'll be back. But guess what's in town!

The Citi Open is here and I got me some cheap tickets! Was here for two days. The first day I spent a little more to get a decent seat. $60 was for lower level under an over hang. Protect me from the rain. The second day was only $25 because I knew I didn't need to "reserve" a seat. These guys let you sit anywhere as long as you had a ticket.

Yes. There were some big names here and I got to see them for cheap. One thing I learned is to watch in the early rounds. Not everyone can play on the main court so you can see your favs on the side courts and get really close.

Yes... That's my home girl Genie! Look, I sat behind Genie's coach and her trainer!

Montreal

I really like Montreal.... The more I visit, the smaller this city becomes.

Roma

The first destination of my 2017 summer travels is Rome. I loved Roman history in school. Yes, History was a fun class when we went over this time period of our past. There is something about the era that I find very interesting. There are also so many movies about this time period that make it so interesting. At any rate here I am!

Before I forget, here are the details of the trip...

Airbnb accommodations from July 2nd to 5th. We basically stay across the street from this cafe. Nice quiet area although we stayed right next to a bar which was great for late night drinks and short walks back home!

From the airport we took the train to the Roma Ostiense stop and walked to the Airbnb.

Once we got settled in we either walked, used the subway, and used a taxi/uber to get around.
